Do I have IBS
Do I have IBS - Find out if you do or do not have Irritable Bowel Syndrome.
The Warning Signs One of the ways to diagnose if you have IBS is through the following criteria. If you have predominant diarrhea, predominant constipation, or the alternation of the two for 3 consecutive months. Often it is also characterized with pain in the gut region. This is often not a fully comprehensive test however. There are many other types of conditions that follow this same criteria and misdiagnosis can happen.
The Professional Approach The preferred method to validate if you have IBS is through a gastrointestinal specialist. They will either review the lengthy records of tests that you have had, or they will issue you to go have a series of tests performed. They will evaluate the test results from blood tests, urine tests, barium enema tests, colonoscopy, endoscopy, etc. The list is not comprehensive nor are all of these tests required for every individual. Once a GI specialist has a full understanding of your test results, he/she can then rule out the possible conditions that you may have and come to the conclusion that you have no serious conditions, hence you may only have IBS.
