IBS Testing

IBS Testing - Experimenting with your body to determine when IBS symptoms flare up, can be a daunting task.

Methods to Test Food Intolerances

When you try out various foods that can cause your body to react severely, this will teach you a large lesson to stop experimenting. However with each trial, you can keep track of what truly flares up your symptoms and which foods do not.

A much easier alternative however is to have an allergy test done at an alternative practitioner clinic. They can sample your blood and determine which food types you are allergic to, down to each specific item such as milk and cheese and the type of cheese.

Track the Symptoms

With the allergy test, there is a cost involved whereas if you were to experiment on your own, this of course will not incur any cost besides taxing your body with intolerant products. Before you commit to any type of experiments, be sure to have a diary handy to jot down all the foods that you eat on a daily basis.

When you have IBS symptoms surfacing, jot them down with a timestamp as to when it occurred and for how long. After a month of tracking your diet and symptoms, you will soon have a good idea on what types of foods cause your body grief.

Analyze the Patterns

Sometimes however, certain symptoms are hard to track the cause, because the body flare-ups can be delayed over several days. This means that you may consume a product in which your body is intolerant to, but the symptoms may not surface until a few days later.

Analyze the diary carefully when reviewing back on the past month. It is highly recommended that you do not live your life with IBS without knowing the foods that you are intolerant to. Almost all IBS sufferers have specific foods that they are newly intolerant to after being stricken with IBS. Find out which ones they are and try to avoid them completely for a month before reintroducing them back into your diet. You will be amazed by the results.
