IBS and Back Pain

IBS and Back Pain - there are a number of methods and tips on how to rid of that terrible back pain.

Massage Versus Acupuncture

First off, it is important to seek treatments such as massage therapy or acupuncture. Take note however that massage therapy will only provide you with temporary relief for the more problematic back pains whereas acupuncture will provide permanent results.

Do it Yourself

If you are able to locate your pressure points on your back, it is also a good idea to press and hold onto those points for 15 seconds at a time. This will provide you with quick temporary relief.

Focusing on the Core

Going forward however, it is best for you to start an exercise program if you are not already on one, that focuses on the core body muscles. The back is considered a part of your core muscles and building them up will help to increase its strength to minimize the occurrences of back pain.

IBS and Back Pain

The Myth

Some IBS back pain sufferers believe that more sleep and rest will make the back pain go away. This is not true as over-sleeping and over-resting will only weaken your back muscles further. As long as you have sufficient sleep of approximately 8 hours for adults, that is typically sufficient.

Diet goes a Long Way

Another important tip to prevent back pain is to eat a balanced and healthy daily diet. When the muscles lack the nutrients that it requires it can result in muscle pain.

Conclusion

Follow the tips and recommendations provided, and soon you will be well on your way to a healthy lifestyle in addition to a symptomless back, free of any pain. Before beginning any exercise program, seek the recommendation of a qualified health care practitioner.
