Ulcerative colitis vs IBS


Ulcerative colitis - Is a type of inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). It may include open sores or ulcers in the large intestine or colon.

This condition can be attained by a simple stomach flu or sickness. There have been research that it can be genetics and autoimmune disease that causes such a condition.





When this condition exists, the most common symptoms are diarrhea mixed with blood and mucus. As a result, one may also lose weight and show signs of blood during rectal examination. Abdominal pain and sharp pains can result.

There are many varying degrees of severity of this condition. It can range from mild, moderate to severe. This is usually categorized by the number of bloody stools performed per day and the level of toxicity displayed.

Ensure that you have an authorized physician perform a complete set of test to conclude your condition. Endoscopy, blood count, X-ray, stool culture, urinalysis are a number of diagnostic tools used by doctors.

There are many types of treatments available. There are traditional and alternative medications available. Some of the traditional drugs include corticosteroids and immunosuppressive drugs. Alternative medications that prove useful include melatonin. Dietary modifications and healthy oil types (fish and short chain fatty acid) are both helpful to treat this condition.
