Nizoral Ketoconazole

Nizoral Ketoconazole - A product that is used to treat a variety of fungal infections including yeast infections such as Candida. What is Candida?

  • What symptoms are relieved by this product?

This oral prescription is used to treat fungal infections. This includes yeast infections which can cause Candida within the skin or mouth (thrush). It also treats Candidiasis which is a yeast infection that has spread throughout the body.

The use of this treatment can help to reverse symptoms such as vaginal yeast infections, body spots on the skin caused by yeast (tinea versicolor), foot fungal infections, and very importantly, any of the symptoms listed in the Candida section.

  • How effective is the product towards the symptoms?

Depending on the symptom(s) that you are targeting to reverse, it may take several days to a couple months to completely treat the problem.

For example, a foot fungal infection, when treated, may take several days to reverse and is very highly effective. Whereas Candidiasis may take up to a couple of months with varying effectiveness dependent on each individual.

  • What is the recommended duration of use for this product?

Ketoconazole is a medication produced in tablet form. It may be taken for 1 week or several months dependent on the prescribing physician and the purpose of use.

For minor fungal infections, it is normally prescribed for 1 week. However, a physician may direct a patient to take ketoconazole for several months when treating major fungal infections such as Candidiasis.

  • Are there any side-effects during and after product usage?

This product is generally well tolerated.

However it can cause the follow side effects:

    • abdominal pain
    • blood count abnormalities
    • dizziness
    • fatigue
    • headache
    • impotence
    • nausea/vomiting
    • rash

There exist no signs of long-term effects on users taking this product. However, in rare cases, if taken in high doses and in longer-term uses, it may cause liver damage. The physician will likely order laboratory tests to monitor the interaction of your body with this drug, to prevent any adverse effects that may occur to your liver or any other parts of your body.

  • Are the results permanent after the product usage has stopped?

This question cannot be answered with a single answer as it is dependent on the issue being treated. Permanent results can be achieved when attempting to reverse a fungal infection of the foot, a vaginal infection or a urinary tract infection.

However, issues such as body spots (tinea versicolor) may not be so easily treated. Your physician will determine the duration of use of ketoconazole and depending on the patient, it may be highly effective or it may only achieve minimal results.

Body spots usually takes several months before disappearing even when the overgrowth of yeast in the skin has been eliminated by the use of this product. Candidiasis is similar as it is dependent on a case-by-case scenario. Meaning that Ketoconazole may be highly effective for some individuals but not all.

Unbiased Product Review

Nizoral Ketoconazole is recommended for the purposes of treating minor fungal infections when the infection only exists in one isolated area of the body, such as the foot, vaginal region or a urinary tract infection.

For more severe issues such as Candidiasis where the yeast has spread to different parts of the body through the bloodstream, the use of the product is questionable. At this point, the product will need to be used for a much longer duration and the dosage may need to be increased to two doses per day (400mg) instead of one dose (200mg).

There also poses the risk of permanent liver damage eventhough the occurences are low and a physician may be monitoring the reactions of the body for adverse effects. Other concerns with this drug, are the difficulties in determining the effectiveness of eliminating the yeast infection within the body when the overgrowth has already spread throughout the various parts of the body.

Many dependencies exist when determining the effectiveness of this product. Not only does it depend on the genetics of each patient but also their day-by-day diet, the use of other combined medications and the severity of the fungal infection.

Candidiasis in general, is a difficult condition to reverse. It demands alot of patience since it is a very slow process when attempting to eliminate the overgrowth of yeast. Taking this into consideration and the pro-longed use of a concentrated medication, this results in many types of risks at play in damaging your body when attempting to eliminate the current fungal infection.

My recommendation for more severe conditions such as Candidiasis, is to find alternative treatments such as those I have mentioned here. It would be wise to avoid medications that have potential risks of permanently damaging your body when there are alternative medications and treatments available to achieve more effective results and are much safer products.
